Through five storefront pantries and multiple mobile pantries and produce distributions in 13 Ohio counties, the LSS Food Pantries are visited approximately 8,000 times per month. The LSS Food Pantries are honored to provide more than 2 million meals to hungry Ohio families each year. What is a Food Pantry?

Food pantries and food banks are both important sources of emergency food for our hungry neighbors but serve different functions. Our food pantries directly serve local residents who suffer from hunger and food insecurity in very specific neighborhoods.

Eligibility for Food

In the State of Ohio, income eligibility for food pantry assistance is determined by the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services. Any household living at 200% of the federal poverty level or less is eligible to visit the pantry.

LSS Ohio Benefit Bank Services

The Ohio Benefit Bank (OBB) is an internet-based income enhancement program that provides free access to public benefits and tax credits for low- and moderate-income families. By maximizing tax refunds and reducing a family’s household costs, OBB can increase the available cash on hand and strengthen the ability for people to move toward self-sufficiency and stability.

Stable Families

The Stable Families Program through the Siemer Institute for Family Stability is a national program that helps families at immediate risk of losing housing or at immediate risk of becoming homeless. Services may include but are not limited to case management, education services, employment support, mental health support, substance abuse services, rental assistance, utility assistance, housing search and placement.
